2023 funding call now open

The pro² network+ aims to improve the transition process for digital devices from prototype to product. We envisage a world where anyone with the ambition to make a digital device has the means to do so. To this end, pro² provides funding for people and organisations to find ways to make this happen. This may include, for example, coming up with new tools, processes, materials, platforms or funding models.

The pro² network will operate for 5 years from 2023 to 2027. We will issue a funding call each year. The funding available will be themed according to the main challenges we have identified in device production.

Awards for up to £80,000 are available to eligible applicants to fund projects of a maximum of 12 months starting from September 2023. The call closes on 15 June 2023.

Currently seeking academics for Advisory Board roles

The pro² network team are recruiting members of our advisory board. The advisory board currently contains several representatives from across industry and we’d like to increase our representation from academia. If you’re someone that works in a senior role in academia with expertise or an interest in digital device production, we’re keen to hear from you.

The advisory board has been created to provide feedback on whether we’re on track to achieve our ultimate goal: to democratise access to digital device production. The commitment required includes a twice-yearly online meeting and occasional requests for your help in getting the word out about our events, funding calls and news.

Come take a look at our brand new website where you can find everything you need to know about the pro² network+. Network members can access the members’ section using the password shared by email. In this area you’ll find a list of members open to collaboration, which may be useful for those planning to apply for our funding call.

25 May Funding Call Webinar

As we have now launched our first funding call, we recently held a question and answer webinar to give interested applicants an opportunity to find out more about the theme and eligibility.

The launch event for the pro² network+ took place on 27 March in Bristol, attracting academic and industry professionals with expertise in areas including electronics, manufacturing, digital health, business, journalism, inventions, materials and robotics.
